Thurston County Superior Court is seeking a professional, motivated, and dependable candidate for the role of Extra Help Jury Support Specialist - Bailiff. This on-call position offers a flexible schedule and the opportunity to learn about jury duty while helping jurors understand the process and feel welcomed.

Responsibilities include assisting citizens at check-in, guiding jurors through orientations, and communicating judges’ instructions.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality, professional decorum, and adherence to legal and ethical requirements.
• Must be able to pass a background investigation.

Responsabilités

• Assist citizens as they check in for jury duty.
• Explain juror expectations and courtroom rules.
• Present jury orientations and communicate juror expectations.
• Guide the jury panel through jury selection.
• Clearly and efficiently communicate Judges’ instructions to the jury.
• Provide jury escort to and from the courtroom.
• Provide assistance to the jurors during jury trials and deliberation.
• Transmit instructions and exhibits from court to jurors.
• Support jury administration.
