Job summary

Jefferson County in Port Townsend, WA seeks a part-time Bailiff to serve both the Superior and District Courts. The role involves coordinating the jury and assisting the Clerk during court sessions, ensuring orderly proceedings and the smooth operation of the court.

The Bailiff will interact with defendants, judges, attorneys, corrections staff and the public, managing jury pools and court movement. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and two years of public-facing

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years of experience working with the public in customer service, office, legal or court environment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the jury and assist the Clerk during court sessions.
• Manage and oversee movement of trial jury pools.
• Interact with defendants, judges, attorneys, corrections staff and the public.
• Work up to 69 hours per month as a Clerk Hire Bailiff.
