Job summary

Maricopa County is seeking a Courtroom Clerk to record and memorialize court proceedings, attend sessions, and maintain exhibits. You will work closely with judges and court staff to ensure an accurate, timely record of events in the courtroom.

The role is based in Downtown Phoenix within the Clerk of the Superior Court and offers hands-on training, tuition reimbursement, and extensive benefits. Teleworking may be considered based on business needs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Three years of clerical/office experience (preferred in a court or legal environment).
• Two years at the Clerk of the Superior Court as a Justice System Clerk or higher can substitute for two years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Attend all court sessions, record proceedings, and transcribe notes into standard minute entries.
• Determine the recipients entitled to receive copies of minute entries.
• Record and secure exhibits presented for court proceedings; communicate oaths and contents of court documents.
