The State of Maine Judicial Branch is seeking an Assistant Clerk at the York Judicial Center in Biddeford. This role involves clerical work in a Clerk’s Office and courtroom, handling civil, family, and criminal cases with extensive public contact and strong customer service skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years of customer service or clerical experience.
• Typing speed of at least 45 WPM.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Ability to learn detailed computer applications.
• Proficiency in MS Office demonstrated by training or work.

Responsabilités

• Docket, process, and file matters before the Court.
• Communicate with the public, judges, attorneys, and agencies.
• Schedule pre-trial activities, trials, motions, and other proceedings.
• Handle fines, fees, and costs paid to the Court.
• Serve as courtroom clerk as required by the judge.
• Prepare abstracts and reports for various agencies.
• Operate recording equipment and maintain logs.
• Participate in jury management activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Clerk.
