The Judicial Branch of Arizona in Maricopa County seeks a Courtroom Assistant - Classified to coordinate courtroom proceedings and provide specialized legal clerical support in a high-volume Family Court division.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • 3 years of progressively responsible administrative experience, preferably in a court or legal environment.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
  • Experience with MS Outlook, Word, iCIS, multi-line phones, copy/fax machines.

Responsibilities

  • Interacts directly with the public, attorneys, case managers, and court staff.
  • Prepares the courtroom for hearings and coordinates actions with the Courtroom Clerk.
  • Assists witnesses and attorneys during proceedings.
  • Prepares and operates e-courtroom equipment and troubleshoots issues.
  • Enters hearing outcomes into the court system in real time.
  • Maintains court calendars and case readiness, supporting the judge and staff.
  • Provides back-up coverage for Judicial Assistant duties as needed.
