Job summary

WestCare Inc. in Miami, FL is seeking a Full Time Urine Specimen Tester to collect and test urine samples at the Miami-Dade County Court House. The role requires a High School diploma or GED and involves working with court personnel to deliver rapid test results.

Ideal candidates have at least one year of relevant experience, are comfortable communicating with judges, and can document results in multiple databases. CPR/First Aid training may be required and pre-employment screenings apply.

Qualifications

• Must hold a minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
• One year experience providing services to persons with alcohol and/or drug problems is preferred.
• Bilingual is preferred.
• Ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with judges and court personnel.
• Must have computer skills to document results in multiple databases.
• CPR Certification, First Aid Certification and an annual Tuberculosis test may be required.

Responsibilities

• Meet consumers at the Miami-Dade court area.
• Test urine of referred consumers for illegal/legal substances.
• Provide the Dade County judges with a quick response on the results of the urine specimen testing.
• Ensure the confidentiality of the results of the urine specimens testing.
• Participates in staff training and meetings as they relate to urine specimen testing and court presentations.
• Complete necessary paperwork within the time specified by the department.
• Attend court hearings when subpoenaed.
• Provides coverage as residential program support as needed.
• Maintains safety and security of facility assigned.
• Communicates with Program Coordinator regarding consumers leaving treatment, injuries, or major infractions of rules, including acts of violence and drug use.
• Provide input in clinical team meetings.
• Ensure that all consumers are adhering to established schedules.
