Job summary

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Facilities Management, is seeking a Senior Maintenance Technician I for the John Adams Courthouse. The role focuses on skilled maintenance trades, preventative care, and system repairs to keep court facilities safe and functional.

Responsibilities include painting, carpentry, masonry, and coordinating with contractors while adhering to union labor guidelines and safety standards. This is a day shift, full-time position with potential overtime during emergencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or equivalent not required; HS diploma or GED accepted.
• At least four years in related maintenance roles.
• Trades certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintains courthouse building and grounds.
• Provides preventative maintenance to equipment, machinery and tools.
• Performs painting, patching and general building repairs.
• Repairs, installs and tests multiple systems and equipment.
• Maintains heating, ventilation and cooling equipment.
• Schedules and escorts contractors.
• Fills out daily lock out/ tag out log.
• Ability to travel to court locations as necessary.
