Job summary

Massachusetts Trial Court in Boston seeks a Maintenance Technician I to perform maintenance across state courthouses. The role supports skilled trades, conducts routine inspections, and assists with systems, equipment, and grounds maintenance.

Starting pay is $49,319.66 per year with a maximum of $72,689.24; the position is unionized under OPEIU Local 6. Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00am–2:00pm; may work outside hours during emergencies. Employment contingent on criminal record check.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; trade certification a plus.
• Two years of related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of building maintenance, safety, OSHA, and basic chemical handling.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools and equipment; basic repair skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in a variety of skilled trades duties and general maintenance tasks.
• Provide cleaning and grounds support as needed for courthouses.
• Assist with repair, installation and testing of systems and equipment.
• Conduct building and system checks; perform preventative maintenance.
• Paint, patch, and perform general building repairs; coordinate with subcontractors.
