Job summary

County of Chelan Sheriff's Office is seeking a Campus Security Deputy to oversee private security at the Chelan County Courthouse Campus, including six main buildings. The role is intended for a Special or Limited commissioned deputy, with duties spanning public safety and event security across the campus.

Supervision under the Sheriff’s Office policy, adherence to CCSO training standards, and the ability to handle stressful situations are essential.

Qualifications

• Two-year college degree (AA) or 2 years of security or law enforcement related experience.
• Completion of Basic Law Enforcement Academy or Corrections Academy per WA CJTC; or ability to complete within 6 months.
• Successful completion of a background investigation including polygraph and psych eval.
• Must meet physical fitness testing standards twice per year.
• Must stay up to date with CCSO training requirements and pass firearms qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Serving arrest warrants.
• Responding to emergent and non-emergent situations across the County campus.
• Assisting court deputies in Superior, District and Juvenile Court security.
• Supervising court security station officers.
• Providing information, direction and assistance to the public.
• May make on-campus arrests and prepare arrest reports.
• Identify and report campus security hazards.
• Other duties as assigned.
