Job summary

Meijer is seeking entry-level Courtesy Team Members to gain exposure to a variety of retail tasks and customer service. You will interact with customers, support department needs, and demonstrate what above-and-beyond service means in a friendly store environment.

You will work with team members across multiple departments to maintain store cleanliness, handle customer flow at service desks and entrances, and assist with general store operations.

Qualifications

• Highly organized with a keen sense for details.
• Strong listening and communication skills are essential.
• Able to lift, carry, push, pull, bend and twist when handling products or equipment.
• Thrives in a fast-paced retail setting.

Responsibilities

• Cart attendants ferry shopping carts from outside the store back inside.
• Coordinate and collect trash from parking lot, lawn, and inside store.
• Safely operate snow removal equipment when needed.
• Handle perishable and salvage returns.
• Perform basic store and restroom cleaning.
• Collaborate with service desk, entrance, lanes and parking areas.
• Work with departments across the store as needed.
• May perform other duties as assigned.

As an entry-level team member, you will have the opportunity to gain exposure to a variety of retail tasks related to additional services provided by our store, product and customer service. What You’ll be Doing:

• Cart attendants will ferry shopping carts from outside the store back to the store interior.
• Coordinating and collecting of the parking lot, lawn, and inside store trash.
• Safely use snow removal equipment for properly removing snow.
• Perishable and salvage returns.
• Basic store and restroom cleaning.
• Working with our service desk, store entrance, check lanes and parking lot areas.
• Working with departments: Health and Beauty Care, Hardlines, Fashion/Softlines, Pets, Hardware, Card and Party, Outdoor, Seasonal and Floral.
