Vallarta Supermarkets in Fresno is seeking a friendly Courtesy Clerk to deliver fast, courteous service at the checkout, bag groceries, assist customers, and keep aisles tidy.

You will work with a team in a festive, dynamic environment, following company procedures, performing price checks, and helping with restocking and safety tasks.

About the Role

The Courtesy Clerk provides excellent customer service at the check stand by bagging groceries quickly and carefully,assistingcustomers with carry-out, and helping themlocateproducts. Courtesy Clerks also collect shopping carts,maintaincleanliness in the store and parking lot, and perform custodial duties to keep facilities safe, clean, andwelcoming forcustomers.

What You’ll Do

Smile and greet all customers and team members while using Vallarta’s six steps of extraordinary service.

Model Vallarta’s Core Values: customer service, commitment, integrity, respect, humility, and teamwork.

Bag groceries according to Vallarta’s procedures and customer requests.

Assistcustomers with carry-out service andlocatingproducts in the store.

Performaccurateprice checks asrequested.

Check and secure items at the bottom of shopping carts when trained.

Perform 'go-backs,'promptly returning perishable and non-perishable items to shelves.

Safely gather shopping carts using reflectivevestandrope.

Assistwith spills, clean-ups, restroom cleaning, sweeping, mopping, and trash removal (if trained).

Clean store perimeters, including cart corrals, parking lot, sidewalks, and receivingdock.

Monitor andreportbuilding maintenance needs or safety hazards.

Keep janitorial room organized and stocked with approved supplies (if trained).

Alwaysmaintainhigh housekeeping and safety standards.

Treat coworkers and customers respectfully at all times.

Abide by all store rules, company policies, and Employee Handbook.

Report injuries, unsafe conditions, or misconduct to management.

Performadditionalduties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

Stand and walk constantly (6–8+ hours/day).

Frequently bend neck/waist, squat, twist, and reach above/below shoulders.

Frequent use of hands for grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation.

Lift and carry up to 25 lbs.frequently, and up to 40 lbs. occasionally (e.g., dog food bags).

Heaviest itemrequiredto carry: 40 lbs., up to 40 feet.

Operate manual pallet jacks safely (buddy systemrequiredfor pallets).

Work near equipment/machinery and on uneven ground.

Exposure todust, gas, fumes, temperature, and humidity changes.
