Responsibilities of the Courtesy Clerk/Grocery Bagger:

1. Bag groceries at checkout, aiming for at least five items per bag without damage.
2. Follow best practices for bagging in various types of bags (reusable, plastic, paper).
3. Assist in removing customer's merchandise from baskets for checkout.
4. Offer to help load bags into customers' cars.
5. Perform basic shelf conditioning and restocking.
6. Inform customers of grocery specials.
7. Return merchandise to shelves and gather/return shopping carts.
8. Maintain cleanliness by cleaning spills, trash, and all store areas inside and outside.
9. Handle and assemble seasonal merchandise.
10. Understand store layout, locate products, and assist with price checks.
11. Reinforce safety protocols, identify unsafe conditions, and report issues.
12. Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.
13. Inspect equipment regularly and report repairs needed.
14. Create a welcoming environment by answering customer questions about products.
15. Comply with all laws, regulations, and company policies.
16. Work cooperatively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
17. Manage conflicts cooperatively and non-confrontationally.
18. Act with honesty and integrity with customer and business information.
19. Follow directions and seek assistance when resolving issues.
20. Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
