Responsibilities include:

  • Bagging groceries efficiently at checkout, aiming for at least five items per bag without damage.
  • Following best practices for bagging in various types of bags (reusable, plastic, paper).
  • Assisting in removing merchandise from the bottom of shopping carts for checkout.
  • Offering to help customers load bags into their vehicles.
  • Performing basic shelf conditioning and restocking merchandise.
  • Informing customers of current grocery specials.
  • Returning merchandise to shelves and gathering carts for return.
  • Cleaning spills, trash, and maintaining cleanliness inside and outside the store.
  • Handling seasonal merchandise and understanding store layout for product location and price checks.
  • Reinforcing safety procedures, reporting unsafe conditions, and complying with food safety regulations.
  • Inspecting equipment and reporting repairs needed.
  • Creating a welcoming environment by assisting customers and answering questions about products.
  • Following all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Working cooperatively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
  • Managing conflicts professionally and acting with honesty and integrity.
  • Seeking assistance when needed and supporting diverse customer needs, including minors, individuals with disabilities, and seniors.
