Responsibilities:
- Bag groceries at checkout, aiming for at least five items per bag while ensuring contents are not damaged.
- Follow best practices for bagging in various types of bags (reusable, plastic, paper).
- Assist in removing merchandise from bottom of shopping carts for checkout.
- Offer to help customers load bags into their vehicles.
- Perform basic shelf conditioning and restocking.
- Inform customers of grocery specials and return merchandise to shelves.
- Gather and return shopping carts to designated areas.
- Maintain cleanliness by cleaning spills, collecting trash inside the store and parking lot, and cleaning all store areas.
- Handle and assemble seasonal merchandise.
- Understand store layout, locate products, and conduct price checks for cashiers.
- Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures, identifying unsafe conditions, and notifying management.
- Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.
- Perform preventive maintenance checks on equipment and report issues.
- Create a welcoming environment by assisting customers and answering questions about products.
- Follow all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
- Manage conflict in a reasonable, non-confrontational manner.
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
- Follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve issues.
- Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
