Responsibilities:
- Bag groceries at checkout for customers, aiming for at least five items per bag while preventing damage.
- Follow best practices for bagging items in various bag types (reusable, plastic, paper).
- Assist in removing customer merchandise from shopping carts for checkout.
- Offer to help customers load bags into their vehicles.
- Perform basic shelf conditioning and restocking merchandise.
- Inform customers about grocery specials and promotions.
- Return merchandise to store shelves and gather shopping carts for return.
- Maintain cleanliness by cleaning spills, collecting trash inside the store and parking lot, and cleaning all areas inside and outside the store.
- Handle and assemble seasonal merchandise.
- Understand store layout, locate products, and assist with price checks for cashiers.
- Reinforce safety protocols, identify unsafe conditions, and report issues to management.
- Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.
- Inspect equipment and notify maintenance of repairs needed.
- Create a welcoming environment by answering customer questions regarding products throughout the store.
- Follow all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
- Manage conflicts in a reasonable, non-confrontational manner.
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
- Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues.
- Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
