Responsibilities of the Courtesy Clerk/Grocery Bagger include:

• Bagging groceries efficiently at checkout, aiming for at least five items per bag without damage.
• Following best practices for bagging in various types of bags.
• Assisting in removing customer's merchandise from shopping carts.
• Offering help to customers with loading bags into their cars.
• Performing basic shelf conditioning and restocking merchandise.
• Informing customers of grocery specials and returning merchandise to shelves.
• Gathering and returning shopping carts to designated areas.
• Cleaning spills, trash, and all store areas inside and outside.
• Handling seasonal merchandise and understanding store layout for product location and price checks.
• Reinforcing safety procedures, reporting unsafe conditions or incidents.
• Adhering to food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Inspecting equipment and reporting repairs needed.
• Creating a welcoming environment by assisting customers and answering questions.
• Following all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Working cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
• Managing conflicts in a professional manner.
