Job summary

Licking County Government seeks a Probation Officer to supervise probationers and conduct investigations under the Adult Court Services Department. The role reports to the Director/Deputy Director and requires firearm qualifications and strong collaboration with legal and law enforcement colleagues.

Starting hourly wage is $30.18 with full-time hours. The officer will handle home visits, on-call duties, drug/alcohol screening, and data reporting while upholding safety and confidentiality

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college; 1–3 years related experience.
• Must be able to qualify in the use of firearms.
• Ability to submit written court reports and present case information in court.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance.
• Promotes and maintains positive working relationships as a representative of Licking County government.
• Uses case management system to supervise caseload and monitor probation conditions.
• Conducts pre-sentence investigations and other investigations; makes recommendations to the Court.
• Interface with Prosecuting Attorney’s Office and law enforcement; coordinates with community agencies.
• Arrest probation violators and initiate revocation proceedings; may perform searches.
