Job summary

Coconino County Superior Court is recruiting for Court Security Officer roles in Flagstaff, Arizona. Positions include full-time and temporary/on-call openings with varying hours, shifts, and potential overtime.

Successful candidates will perform screening, patrols, and security duties to safeguard court personnel and the public. Eligible applicants may receive uniform allowance and progression incentives upon training and certification, with annual pay plan increases for Academy and firearm

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with three years of recent security experience.
• Must successfully complete Court Security Officer Training Academy within 90 days of employment.
• Must complete Court Security Officer Firearms Training Academy within 180 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Screen persons, baggage, and containers to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Operate security equipment such as X-ray machines and hand wands at entrances.
• Patrol court facilities and grounds.
• Provide armed security presence at main court entrance and oversee entry screening.
• Monitor security systems, alarms, and access control hardware.
• Respond to assistance calls from courtrooms and maintain safety of staff and public.
