Job summary

National Police seeks a Deputy Sheriff to support the operations of the Courts, Transportation, Civil and Warrant Units for Delaware County. The role involves transporting prisoners, securing holding cells and courtrooms, and handling civil process and warrants with vigilance and integrity.

The Deputy will perform duties such as extraditions, juror security, evictions, and enforcement of court orders, while complying with state laws and agency policies.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• United States citizen and resident of Delaware County.
• High School Graduate or equivalent.
• Valid PA Driver's License.
• Must pass stringent background checks including psychological and medical exams, financial responsibility, criminal history, driving record, and drug testing.

Responsibilities

• Transport prisoners securely to and from correctional facilities for court appearances and hold prisoners in secure holding cells.
• Escort prisoners to court, maintain courtroom safety, monitor for disturbances, and respond to emergencies in courthouse or government center.
• Travel interstate and intrastate for prisoner extraditions as needed.
• Assist with jury sequestration and provide juror security.
• Guard prisoners in hospital settings when required and assist with various protections.
