The role emphasizes advocacy, information provision, and connecting clients with critical services within the agency framework. The Advocate develops service plans, provides crisis intervention, and coordinates with social services, health, housing, and legal resources.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in social service or related field.
• Associate Degree with two or more years applicable experience.
• High School Diploma with four or more years applicable experience.
• Must have 40-hour domestic violence training (within 3 months of hire date).
• Must be CPR/First aid certified (within 1 year of hire date).

Responsibilities

• Assist clients in the court setting to obtain Orders of Protection.
• Provide follow-up services to walk-in and referred clients.
• Provide crisis intervention to walk-in, call-in, or referred clients.
• Develop service plans with each client and monitor progress.
• Coordinate and advocate with outside entities including social service, mental health, substance abuse, housing, and legal resources.
• Serve as liaison between Family Rescue and the community.
• Conduct case management and document timely records, files, and reports.
• Complete intake/screening of clients for services.
• Provide follow-up for a minimum of six months after leaving services.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education

Bachelor's Degree or related field
