Job Summary

The laboratory courier is responsible for transporting specimens from physician offices, collection centers, and nursing homes to Labtech Diagnostics. The courier must adhere to OSHA safety guidelines and complete ongoing education in Bloodborne Pathogens, HIPAA, and Leaks and Spills.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Follow laboratory policies and procedures for specimen handling.
2. Use appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
3. Maintain good customer service etiquette.
4. Adhere to a specific route schedule.
5. Communicate immediately regarding customer problems or complaints.
6. Ensure specimens are labeled correctly and kept at proper temperatures.
7. Maintain a current driver’s license and auto insurance.
8. Deliver supplies to offices as needed.
9. Ship outgoing orders accurately and promptly.
10. Receive incoming orders and manage inventory.
11. Organize and maintain a clean warehouse environment.
12. Prepare and ship FedEx and UPS packages properly.
13. Perform vehicle maintenance and daily checklists.

Required Skills and Abilities

• Clean driving record for the past 10 years.
• Valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
• Good visual and auditory acuity.

Work Hours: Monday-Friday 12pm to 9pm, rotating Saturdays.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit for long periods, perform kneeling, bending, and lift up to 10 lbs.
