Job Duties

1. Operate company vehicles to deliver and pick up packages efficiently and courteously.
2. Check shipments for conformance to FedEx service features.
3. Provide coverage for all assigned routes within the station's service area.
4. Perform related customer service functions.
5. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Six (6) months courier experience preferred.
• Ability to demonstrate knowledge of the service area.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to maneuver packages heavier than 50 lbs with appropriate equipment and/or assistance.
• Good human relations and verbal communication skills.
• Thorough knowledge of the station's service area preferred.
• Skills in adaptability, dependability, and courier methods.

Job Conditions

• Neat appearance required due to customer contact.
• Must meet and maintain qualifications outlined in federal motor carrier safety regulations.
• Requires medical exam in accordance with FMCSA or FAA regulations.
• Must obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license according to state requirements and have a good driving record.
• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
• Specific requirements for operating a company vehicle are detailed in policy 4-48.
