Job description

Sonic Healthcare invites you to join our front line of #HealthcareHeroes in Brooklyn, NY. As a Courier, you will play a vital part in the patient care process by transporting critical specimens and supplies between our laboratory and healthcare provider locations.

Responsibilities
  • Transport reports, records, supplies, and medical specimens between the laboratory and healthcare provider locations.
  • Ensure proper specimen handling, transport, and safe operation of a motor vehicle—rain or shine.
  • Interact with a variety of clients and provide customer‑focused service.
  • Champion safety, compliance, and quality control.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • A valid driver’s license and an excellent driving record for the past three years.
  • Confidence operating a vehicle in all weather and traffic conditions and navigating routine hazards of the road.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, under time constraints, without close supervision.
  • Physical capability of light to medium lifting (up to 50 lbs).
Bonus Points
  • 2+ years of experience operating conventional vehicles for business purposes (cars, trucks, and/or vans).
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.

Schedule

Hours: 10:00 am – 6:00 pm, Monday to Friday (40 hours per week)

Salary

$16.50 to $19.00 per hour (depending on experience). Geographic differentials may apply. Any difference between actual compensation and the posted range will be based on factors other than race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy) or national origin.
