Job summary

Sonic Healthcare USA is seeking a reliable courier in Houston to transport reports, records, supplies, and medical specimens between the laboratory and healthcare provider locations. This full-time 2nd shift role runs 1-9pm, Monday–Friday with alternating Saturdays, totaling 40 hours per week.

You will ensure proper specimen handling, operate a vehicle safely in all weather, and interact with clients to deliver outstanding service while upholding safety and privacy standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with clean 3-year history.
• Ability to operate a vehicle in all weather/traffic conditions.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• 2+ years of driving/vehicle operation for business (bonus).
• Knowledge of medical terminology (bonus).

Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

• Perform a vital part of the patient care process by making sure that reports, records, supplies, and medical specimens are successfully transported between the laboratory and healthcare provider locations.
• Ensure proper specimen handling, transport, and safe operation of a motor vehicle - rain or shine!
• Interact with a variety of clients and commit to customer-focused service.
• Champion safety, compliance, and quality control.

All you need is:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• A valid driver's license and an excellent driving record for the past three years.
• Confidence operating a vehicle in all weather and traffic conditions and navigating routine hazards of the road.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, under time constraints, without close supervision.
• Physical capability of light to medium lifting (up to 50lbs).

Bonus points if you've got:

• 2+ years of experience operating conventional vehicles for business purposes. This includes cars, trucks, and/or vans.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
