Job summary

FedEx Corporation is seeking a dedicated driver/operator to deliver and pick up packages in a courteous, efficient manner. Responsibilities include checking shipments for FedEx service conformance, providing customer service, and operating vehicles under FMCSA guidelines. Must be 21+, with a high school diploma or GED and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Schedule is Tuesday through Saturday, 7:00am to 6:00pm, in Lake Wales, FL. EEO statements and accommodations are noted in the posting.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Ability to read and understand English and follow safety guidelines per FMCSA.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and pick up packages using FedEx vehicles.
• Check shipments for conformance to FedEx service standards and safety.
• Provide courteous customer service and assistance as needed.

Job description

Driver/operator of company vehicles. Provides courteous and efficient delivery and pick-up of packages. Checks shipments for conformance to FedEx features of service and provides related customer service functions. Drives vehicles not regulated by section 391 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations. Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to lift 50 Lbs. Ability to maneuver packages of any weight above 50 lbs. with appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another person. Good human relations and communication skills. Must be at least 21 years of age. Ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to understand traffic signs, communicate with traffic safety officials and to respond to official inquiries and directions in accordance with FMCSA enforcement guidance.

Job Conditions

Non-covered safety-sensitive position. Neat appearance since customer contact is required. Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.Must be licensed for type of vehicle assigned.
