Job summary

Beacon Health System is seeking a dedicated driver/courier to support routine pick-ups of test samples and supply forms and to deliver supplies across a defined route. The role follows established procedures for preparation and transport of specimens and requires safe operation of a company vehicle.

You will report to the dispatcher, manage the daily pickup schedule, and ensure timely delivery to the appropriate branch.

Qualifications

• Must have a Valid Driver's License and clean driving record.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Previous driver/courier experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is a plus.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Performs pick-up of test samples and supply request forms.
• Delivers supplies and reports on a specified route following schedule.
• Follows established procedures in preparation and transport of specimens.
• Load all necessary suppliers for daily pickups.
• Complete daily pick up schedule in a timely manner.
• Deliver all daily picks to the branch at the end of shift.
• Handle all specimens and lab samples safely.
• Safely operate a company vehicle and obey traffic laws.
• Utilize handheld device to manage daily picks up.
• Coordinate with dispatcher for additional pickups.
• Evaluate traffic, routes, and weather conditions as needed.

• Completes mandatory education, annual competencies and department specific education within established timeframes.
• Completes annual employee health requirements within established timeframes.
• Maintains license/certification, registration in good standing throughout fiscal year.
• Direct patient care providers are required to maintain current BCLS (CPR) and other certifications as required by position/department.
• Consistently utilizes appropriate universal precautions, protective equipment, and ergonomic techniques to protect patient and self.
• Adheres to regulatory agency requirements, survey process and compliance.
• Complies with established organization and department policies.
• Available to work overtime in addition to working additional or other shifts and schedules when required.
