Job summary

Federal Express Corporation is seeking a driver/operator of company vehicles in Corpus Christi, TX to deliver and pick up packages, ensuring courteous, efficient service and compliance with safety standards.

You will read and follow route instructions, lift up to 50 lbs, and interact with customers while maintaining neat appearance. Must be 21+, licensed for vehicle type, and fluent in English.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED; must be licensed for type of vehicle assigned.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs; maneuver heavier packages with equipment and/or assistance.
• Good human relations and verbal communication skills; neat appearance required for customer contact.
• Must meet qualifications per FMCSA safety regulations; medical exam required.
• Must be at least 21 years of age; able to read/speak English sufficiently for traffic signs and inquiries.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and pick up packages using company vehicles; provide courteous customer service.
• Check shipments for conformance to FedEx service standards and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Job description

Driver / operator of company vehicles. Provides courteous and efficient delivery and pick-up of packages. Checks shipments for conformance to FedEx features of service and provides related customer service functions. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education

High school diploma/GED. Must be licensed for type of vehicle assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to lift 50 lbs. Ability to maneuver packages of any weight above 50 lbs. with appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another person. Good human relations and verbal communication skills. Neat appearance since customer contact is required. Must meet qualifications as outlined in section 391 of the Federal Motor Carrier safety regulations. Requires medical exam in accordance with FMCSA or FAA regulations. Non-covered safety-sensitive position. Medical exam required. Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. Must be at least 21 years of age. Ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to understand traffic signs, communicate with traffic safety officials and to respond to official inquiries and directions in accordance with FMCSA enforcement guidance.
