Job summary

Federal Express Corporation in Pennsylvania is seeking a Driver/Operator of company vehicles responsible for courteous, efficient delivery and pickup of packages, checking shipments for FedEx service conformance and performing related customer service tasks. Candidates must have a high school diploma/GED, be licensed for the vehicle type, and be at least 21.

The role requires lifting up to 50 lbs, good communication, neat appearance, and the ability to read English and follow FMCSA safety

Qualifications

• Must be licensed for the type of vehicle assigned.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and move packages as needed.
• Ability to read and speak English sufficiently for traffic signs and inquiries.
• Must meet FMCSA safety regulations and pass medical exam.
• Part-time schedule with Tuesday–Saturday shifts.

Responsibilities

• Drive and operate company vehicles to deliver and pick up packages.
• Check shipments for conformance with FedEx service standards and provide related customer service.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Job description

Minimum Education

High school diploma/GED. Must be licensed for type of vehicle assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to lift 50 lbs. Ability to maneuver packages of any weight above 50 lbs. with appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another person. Good human relations and verbal communication skills. Neat appearance since customer contact is required. Must meet qualifications as outlined in section 391 of the Federal Motor Carrier safety regulations. Requires medical exam in accordance with FMCSA or FAA regulations. Non-covered safety-sensitive position. Medical exam required. Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. Must be at least 21 years of age. Ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to understand traffic signs, communicate with traffic safety officials and to respond to official inquiries and directions in accordance with FMCSA enforcement guidance.
