Job summary

Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA is seeking married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents. Couples reside in on-campus student homes and provide care, guidance, and supervision for 8–13 students.

The role starts with nine days on, three days off, with a transition to a placed houseparent living in the same student home. Salary per person is $46,917 with comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, retirement, and relocation assistance; training is provided and paid

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person role for couples, married for at least two years.
• Both spouses aged 27 or older.
• No more than three dependent children in the home.
• Campus is smoke-free and weapon-free; no alcohol on duty.
• Pet limitations: fish and one dog of approved breeds.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license; able to become certified to drive student vans.
• Comfort leading daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited).
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; staff are role models.

Responsibilities

• Providing daily supervision and mentorship
• Managing household routines and student schedules
• Administering medications and ensuring student wellness
• Driving students to activities and planning engaging developmental/recreational activities
• Leading daily devotions and accompanying students to Sunday Chapel
• Overseeing budgeting and household reporting
