Job summary

Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA, is hiring married couples as Full-time Flex Houseparents. Couples reside in on-campus student homes, overseeing a group of 8–13 students and guiding their academic, emotional, and social development.

The role begins with a nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with a future placement in a fixed home. The position requires two people, both 27+, with a high school diploma or GED, and a driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person couple role, married for at least two years.
• Both spouses aged 27 or older.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student vans.
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol while on duty.
• No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily supervision and mentorship to students.
• Manage household routines and student schedules.
• Administer medications and monitor student wellness.
• Drive students to activities and plan engaging developmental and recreational activities.
• Lead daily devotions and accompany students to Sunday Chapel.
• Oversee budgeting and household reporting.
• Initially support various student homes on a 9-on/3-off schedule; laterPlaced Houseparent in a fixed home.
• On weekdays, supervise students while they are in school.
• Transition to a Placed Houseparent living with the same student group.
