Job summary

Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA, seeks full-time Flex Houseparents who are married couples to live in on-campus student homes and support 8-13 students. Responsibilities include supervision, scheduling, transportation, devotions, and budgeting, with a nine-days-on/three-days-off cycle and a placed-houseparent path.

Compensation includes $46,917 per person annually, housing, meals on duty, and benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person role for married couples (must be legally married for at least two years).
• Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
• No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home.
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol while on duty.
• Pet limitations: only fish and one dog of approved breeds.
• Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans.
• Comfort leading students in daily devotions and Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited).
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; staff serve as role models.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily supervision and mentorship for students.
• Manage household routines and student schedules.
• Administer medications and monitor student wellness.
• Drive students to activities and plan developmental and recreational events.
• Lead daily devotions and accompany students to Sunday Chapel.
• Oversee budgeting and household reporting.
