Job summary

Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA, is seeking married couples for Full-time Flex Houseparents. Couples reside in on-campus student homes, providing care, guidance, supervision and support for 8–13 students, helping them grow academically, emotionally and socially.

They follow a nine-days-on, three-days-off schedule, then transition to a placed houseparent. Benefits include salary per person, comprehensive health/dental/vision, retirement plans, relocation assistance and paid training.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person role for couples married at least two years (couple eligibility).
• Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
• No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty.

Responsibilities

• Providing daily supervision and mentorship
• Managing household routines and student schedules
• Administering medications and ensuring student wellness
• Driving students to activities and planning developmental/recreational activities
• Leading daily devotions and accompanying students to Sunday Chapel
• Overseeing budgeting and household reporting
