Job summary

Milton Hershey School (MHS) in Hershey, PA, is hiring married couples for Full-time Flex Houseparents. Couples reside in on-campus student homes, providing care, guidance, supervision, and support for about 8–13 students in each home.

Initially, duties follow a 9 days-on, 3 days-off schedule, with progression to a placed houseparent role living with the same group of students. Excellent benefits and housing are provided.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person couple role; both spouses must be legally married for at least two years.
• Age 27 or older for both spouses; no more than three dependent children in home.
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student vans.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Demonstrated integrity and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily supervision and mentorship to students.
• Manage household routines and student schedules.
• Administer medications and monitor student wellness.
• Drive students to activities and participate in developmental/recreational activities.
• Lead daily devotions and accompany students to Sunday Chapel.
• Oversee budgeting and household reporting.
