Job summary

Milton Hershey School (MHS) invites qualified married couples to join as Full-time Flex Houseparents on campus in Hershey, PA. You will provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for 8–13 students in a family-like home, fostering academic, emotional, and social growth.

The two-person role follows a nine-days-on, three-days-off schedule, with progression to a Placed Houseparent living with the same students. Benefits include housing, meals, and comprehensive insurance and retirement options.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years.
• Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
• No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home.
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty.
• Pet limitations: only fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans.
• Ability to lift to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Providing daily supervision and mentorship.
• Managing household routines and student schedules.
• Administering medications and ensuring student wellness.
• Driving students to activities and planning developmental/recreational activities.
• Leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel.
• Overseeing budgeting and household reporting.
