Job summary

Cochise County in Bisbee seeks a Systems Librarian to manage the countywide online library system and the wide-area network under the Library District Director.

The role requires a Master’s in Library Science (ALA-accredited) or related field, plus three years of experience with integrated library systems and general hardware/software troubleshooting; Arizona driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Library Science (ALA-accredited) or related field.
• At least three years of experience with integrated library systems, hardware, software, and network troubleshooting.
• Must possess a valid Arizona driver’s license.
• Experience with library technology administration and system security.

Responsibilities

• Manage the countywide online library system for seven libraries and five branches.
• Serve as primary contact with the system vendor and telecom agencies on hardware and software issues.
• Troubleshoot telecommunications network and hardware problems; arrange efficient solutions.
• Maintain logs, backups, and install system patches and upgrades.
• Develop and maintain library district website, web catalog, and online databases/services.
• Liaise with State Library and vendors of online databases and services.
