Job summary

The County of Davidson seeks an experienced County Manager to serve as the chief executive officer, directing day-to-day operations in line with Board policies. You will coordinate across departments, oversee the budget, and ensure high-quality public services for residents and businesses.

This leadership role requires strong communication, financial acumen, and the ability to engage diverse stakeholders while upholding ICMA ethics.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in public administration or business administration.
• At least five years of progressively responsible local government experience.
• Experience as county or city manager is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implements policies, directives, and priorities established by the Board of Commissioners.
• Prepares and submits the annual budget and capital improvement plan.
• Plans, arranges, and schedules all meetings for the Board of Commissioners including the agenda.
• Coordinates major capital projects and long-range planning.
• Represents the County at regional, state, and other governmental meetings.
• Maintains strong fiscal controls and promotes responsible financial management.
