The role provides beginning-level social services and case management with hands-on practice, interviews, referrals, and documentation as part of a guided learning path.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 and two years of college coursework with 12 credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or related social sciences; or
• Bachelor's degree with 12 credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or related social sciences; or
• Equivalent combination of experience and training with 12 credits in related social sciences and one year of paraprofessional case management experience.

Responsibilities

• Training participates to learn procedures, observe staff, and build knowledge of community resources.
• Schedule and conduct interviews and follow-up visits with families.
• Assist with preparing and providing supervised testimony in court.
• Make referrals to social service agencies and explain available resources.
• Document activities using required methods including summaries, correspondence, and reports.
• Participate in case reviews and supervisory conferences to support learning.
