Job summary

County of Boulder, Colorado seeks an experienced County Administrator to serve as the chief administrative officer, implementing BOCC policy and coordinating with department directors. This role manages resources, oversees operations, and ensures governance aligned with county priorities.

You will lead disaster response, develop annual budgets with input from stakeholders, and supervise senior staff while ensuring compliance with Colorado statutes and residency requirements within the Boulder

Qualifications

• Ten years of progressively responsible supervisory experience, including five or more years as an executive in local government or equivalent.
• Knowledge of Colorado governmental structures, statutes, and practices.
• Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field; a Master’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Meets regularly with the BOCC and implements policy directions.
• Coordinates updates to the personnel and policy manual and budgets with Elected Officials.
• Manages day-to-day administration of the county organization and oversees staff and departments.
• Prepares agendas and materials for BOCC meetings and public hearings.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field

Masters preferred
