National Association Of Counties Inc in Virginia is seeking an experienced professional to serve as County Administrator, the chief administrative officer responsible for implementing the Board of Supervisors’ vision and directing county programs and operations.

The new Administrator will oversee annual operating and capital budgets, lead the county workforce, and coordinate with the Board and other officials to ensure delivery of services and responsiveness to citizens.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in public administration, business management, political science, or related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
• Three to five years of senior executive/administrator leadership experience in a similarly responsible organization.
• Comprehensive knowledge of public administration, local government financial management, economic development, and local government operations.
• Understanding of county governance and dedication to the board of supervisors/administrator form of governance; Virginia local government experience desirable.
• Any combination of education and experience that qualifies an applicant may be considered in lieu of the criteria listed above.

Responsabilités

• Provide liaison between the Board, Constitutional Officers, Courts, School Board, and Registrar.
