Job summary

Travis County in Austin seeks an accounting professional to provide standard GAAP-compliant financial services under supervision. You will prepare statements, schedules, and journal entries, maintain ledgers, reconcile accounts, and monitor revenues and expenses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a directly related field AND two years of progressively responsible accounting or financial analysis experience.
• Master's degree may substitute for the two years required experience.
• Knowledge of GAAP and county policies.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, schedules and reports.
• Complete journal entries and reconcile accounts and ledgers.
• Monitor revenue and expenses and analyze financial data to recommend actions.
• Assist in budgeting and developing accounting procedures.
