HNH MANAGEMENT LLC in Phoenix is hiring a Counter Server for Buck & Rider's new counter concept. You will greet guests, take orders in person, on the phone, or online, process payments and manage pickup times, while keeping stations clean and inviting.

Responsibilities

• Welcome each guest with warmth and attentiveness.
• Answer the phone and take counter, phone and online orders accurately, process payments and communicate pickup timing.
• Open and close the register and handle cash accurately.
• Guide guests through our seafood, sushi, prepared foods and the sake and wine shelf with thoughtful recommendations.
• Weigh, wrap, label and sell fresh seafood from our retail case.
• Sell wine and sake responsibly, checking guest ID for all alcohol sales.
• Learn our seafood varieties, sourcing, flavor profiles and preparation options through training.
• Coordinate with our sushi chefs and fishmongers to confirm availability and answer product questions.
• Package and hand off orders neatly, checking accuracy, presentation and required accompaniments.
• Communicate allergies and special requests clearly, and confirm ingredient questions with the culinary team.
• Keep counters, displays and pickup areas clean, organized, stocked and ready for service.
• Follow food safety, sanitation and temperature-control standards while keeping the guest experience smooth.

About this position

POSITION: COUNTER SERVER

B&R Fish Shop is opening on Camelback.

Since 2015, Buck & Rider has flown fresh seafood into Phoenix every day from around the world. It was named No. 16 on Yelp's Top 20 Oyster Houses in the US and Canada, one of only three on the list not on the coast. B&R Fish Shop is where that seafood lands first. It's broken down here before it goes out to our restaurants, and the same product fills our retail case for guests to take home. We're part of Hi Noon Hospitality, named Best Restaurant Group by AZ Foothills Magazine in 2026. We hold a high bar, work hard and have fun doing it.

You light up when a guest asks what's good today. You remember the regular who always gets the salmon and the one with the shellfish allergy. You can explain the difference between two oysters in a sentence, and you'd rather learn ten more than fake one. Every order goes out right, on time and looking good, and you'd rather do it with a crew that has fun working hard.

THE JOB

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Genuine hospitality, strong communication skills and a positive, guest-focused attitude


• Real interest in seafood and sushi, and enthusiasm for learning an extensive product selection


• Counter service, restaurant, retail or to-go experience preferred; we're willing to train the right candidate


• Ability to multitask, keep orders accurate and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment


• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends and scheduled holidays, and a valid Food Handler card or able to obtain one


• Able to stand and walk for extended periods and frequently bend, reach and carry orders and supplies, with reasonable accommodation as needed
