Airgas in Kalamazoo, MI, is seeking a Counter Sales Associate/Back Up VMI Driver to join our team. This role blends high-energy customer interaction with critical operational support in a retail shop setting.

You will help customers with industrial, medical and safety supplies, manage inventory, and coordinate deliveries while supporting local store operations. Excellent customer service and multitasking are essential.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be able to operate in a drug-free workplace.
• Valid driver's license; Motor Vehicle Report will be run.
• Minimum of 2+ years of experience in product, warehouse, or sales environments (we also value an equivalent combination of education and unique life experience).
• Requires frequent use of computer and telephones and occasional use of a forklift, pallet jack or other material handling equipment.
• Employees will frequently be required to position themselves to stock inventory and handle cylinders.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Ability to routinely move up to 60 pounds and move more than 60 pounds with the aid of material handling equipment.

Responsibilities

• Welcomes and assists walk-in and telephone customers to identify product needs.
• Accurately completes and files sales quotes and information.
• Enters sales data and conducts strong product research to assist customers.
• Processes customer payments and records sales data.
• Organizes and stocks store merchandise and keeps sales area orderly.
