Job summary

American Welding & Gas, Inc. in Minot, ND is seeking a Counter Representative to assist customers in-store and by phone, process sales, and manage cylinder transactions.

You will help with receiving freight, scheduling deliveries, and supporting the outside sales team while maintaining safety standards. The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, a Class B CDL with Hazmat endorsement (or ability to obtain), and a clean driving record.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Class B CDL with Hazmat endorsement or the ability to obtain both.
• Clean driving record.
• Work experience in customer service or sales preferred.
• Able to move compressed gas and liquid cylinders; lift 50–75 pounds frequently and maneuver 100+ pound cylinders.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers in store and by phone to purchase and order products.
• Handle cylinder returns, exchanges and purchases.
• Reconcile cash, credit card, and charge transactions and end of day cash drawers.
• Branch collection activities and customer retention calls.
• Assist manager with opening and closing store each day and securing all cylinders and setting alarms.
• Monitor inventory levels and stock handling.
• Receive freight and create bar code labels with part numbers.
• Schedule deliveries and service calls.
• Support outside sales team.
• Follow safety policies and work within company guidelines.
• Help achieve sales targets while controlling expenses.
