Job summary

Hog Slat, Incorporated seeks a Counter Sales Representative for our Montezuma, GA retail location. You will assist retail customers in-store and by phone, recommending relevant parts and equipment to meet their needs and promoting Hog Slat products.

Responsibilities include operating cash registers, handling transactions, and supporting inventory management with forklift-capable tasks. A background in farming operations and a customer-service mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of farming industry and parts/equipment used in hog/poultry operations is preferred.
• Customer service experience is strongly preferred.
• Ability to lift and move 50 lbs and obtain forklift certification.

Responsibilities

• Work with retail customers, in-store and over the phone, to understand their needs.
• Recommend parts and equipment to address customer needs.
• Educate customers on products and promotions and Hog Slat Grower Select products.
• Operate office equipment, handle cash transactions, and use computer systems.
• Assist with inventory management and unload stock with a forklift; perform cycle counts.
• Maintain a clean, orderly store and support team.
• Be punctual for scheduled store hours and participate in training opportunities.
• Keep industry knowledge up to date.

Counter Sales Representative

Hog Slat, Incorporated, the world’s leading provider of parts, equipment and turn-key construction to the swine & poultry industries is seeking a Counter Sales Representative with previous farming industry experience and excellent customer service skills to join the team at our new Montezuma, GA retail location.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Work with retail customers, both in-store and over the phone, to understand their needs
• Recommend to customers the best parts & equipment available with which their needs can be addressed
• Educate customers on new products and special promotions as well as promote Hog Slat and Grower Select products
• Properly operate office equipment, handle cash transactions, and efficiently utilize computer operating systems
• Assist with inventory management including unloading the stock truck with a forklift, shelving product, and performing cycle counts
• Join the rest of the store team members in the tasks required to maintain a clean and orderly store
• Arrive at the store on-time and ready to work for all scheduled store hours
• Take advantage of training opportunities offered by the Company and by our vendors
• Continually upgrade industry knowledge

Skills / Knowledge Required

• Ideal candidate will have knowledge of the farming industry
• Knowledge of parts and equipment used in modern poultry/hog operations is strongly preferred
• Previous customer service experience is strongly preferred
• Qualified candidates will be able to demonstrate a mechanical aptitude
• Must be able to lift and move 50 lbs.
• Must be willing and able to obtain fork lift certification and use a fork lift regularly
• Understanding of the use of E-Mail and Microsoft Office products in daily tasks
• Ability to quickly learn inventory management software
• Must possess a valid driver license
• PREFER at least 1 year working in a modern hog farming operation
• Familiarity with the local poultry/hog industry and the poultry/hog producers in the area will be considered a plus
