Overview

Hog Slat, Incorporated, the world’s leading provider of parts, equipment and turn-key construction to the swine and poultry industries, is seeking a Counter Sales Representative with experience in the hog farming industry and excellent customer service skills to join our Beulaville, NC retail location.

Responsibilities

• Work with retail customers, both in-store and over the phone, to understand their needs
• Recommend to customers the best parts and equipment available to address their needs
• Educate customers on new products and promotions, and promote Hog Slat and Grower Select products
• Properly operate office equipment, handle cash transactions, and efficiently utilize computer systems
• Assist with inventory management including unloading the stock truck with a forklift, shelving products, and performing cycle counts
• Join the store team in tasks required to maintain a clean and orderly store
• Arrive on time and ready to work for all scheduled store hours
• Take advantage of training opportunities offered by the Company and by our vendors
• Continually upgrade industry knowledge

Skills and Qualifications

• Knowledge of the farming industry
• Knowledge of parts and equipment used in modern hog operations (strongly preferred)
• Previous customer service experience (strongly preferred)
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
• Ability to lift and move 50 lbs.
• Willingness and ability to obtain forklift certification and operate a forklift regularly
• Understanding of using email and Microsoft Office products in daily tasks
• Ability to quickly learn inventory management software
• Valid driver license required
• Prefer at least 1 year of experience working in a modern hog farming operation
• Familiarity with the local hog industry and producers is a plus
