Job summary

DSG is seeking an Electrical Counter Sales Associate in our Helena, MT location for a full-time, hourly role. You will assist customers at the City Desk with orders, provide product information, and help with warehouse duties as needed.

You'll engage in quotations, troubleshooting and collaboration with the sales team to resolve issues while maintaining a clean counter and accurate inventory. The role emphasizes customer service and technical knowledge in electrical products.

Qualifications

• Product and technical knowledge gained through college/technical training or field experience.
• Customer service and communication skills are essential across in-person, phone and email.
• Ability to write and process orders accurately and timely.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary facilitator for customer orders at the City Desk.
• Assist customers with product inquiries in a professional manner.
• Write and occasionally fill orders accurately and promptly.
• Generate customer quotations and follow up as needed.
• Provide troubleshooting and technical support.

DSG is seeking an Electrical Counter Sales Associate in our Helena, MT location. In this full time, hourly position, work is typically performed between the hours of 7 am and 5 pm, Monday through Friday, but may vary on occasion according to business needs. As a Counter Sales Associate, you will assist customers at the City Desk with order placement and fulfillment, as well as assisting in all aspects of warehouse duties as needed.

A Typical Day in the Life of an Electrical Counter Sales Associate:

• Serve as the primary facilitator for customer orders made at the City Desk
• Assist customers in a professional manner with product inquiries
• Write (and occasionally fill) orders accurately and in a timely manner
• Generate customer quotations and follow up as necessary
• Provide trouble‑shooting and technical support
• Work with other sales team members to resolve customer service issues
• Restock the counter area according to product brand and location
• Monitor product inventory and cull damaged product
• Maintain a clean and appealing counter display area
• Identify and encourage the sale of additional products as applicable
• Perform other duties as assigned

A Successful Electrical Counter Sales Associate Typically Has:

• Product and technical knowledge normally acquired in two or more years of college or technical school OR 3-5 years field experience in the residential/commercial applications of electrical products.
• Excellent relationship building skills.
• Outstanding interpersonal, customer service and communication skills across a variety of settings (in-person, phone, and email).
• Strong attention to detail, paired with the ability to multi‑task.
• A knack for active listening to determine customer needs.
• Superior problem solving, project management, and analytical skills.
• A high proficiency with computers – experience in Eclipse or other ERP systems preferred.
• The ability to plan, prioritize and organize work effectively.
