Job summary

Arnold Lumber Co Inc in West Kingston, RI, invites applications for a Counter Sales role. You’ll support the Sales Counter, process orders, quotes, and provide product information while maintaining neat inventory and engaging customers.

As an entry-level team member reporting to the Profit Center Manager, you’ll learn the business, assist with daily opening/closing, and help ensure exceptional service across in-store and phone sales with accurate POS handling and ongoing stock management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred; customer service experience valued.
• Ability to read, write and perform basic math; strong communication.
• Willingness to learn product information and company procedures.

Responsibilities

• Staff the sales counter and greet customers.
• Process orders, transactions, and quotes.
• Stock and organize inventory; perform cycle counts.
• Provide product information and literature to customers.
• Open/close store and manage cash drawer procedures.
• Assist with phone sales and walk-in traffic.
• Maintain store materials and paperwork.
