Job summary

Arnold Lumber Co Inc, a fourth-generation full-service lumberyard with locations in West Kingston, RI and Bristol, RI, seeks a Counter Sales team member. This entry-level role reports to the Profit Center Manager and focuses on friendly service, order entry, quotes, and inventory support to drive sales.

You'll greet customers, handle POS transactions, provide product information, and help with stock, pricing, and special orders.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Customer service/sales experience preferred.
• Strong math and basic accounting skills.
• Ability to read and write clearly.
• Excellent organizational abilities.
• Strong verbal communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Staff the Sales Counter and service customers.
• Process orders, sales transactions, and quotes.
• Stock shelves and maintain inventory.
• Perform cycle counts and organize stock.
• Provide product information and literature.
• Open/close store and manage cash drawer procedures.
• Assist with special orders and quotes routing.
• Resolve customer complaints and escalate to management.
