Job Summary:

The Counter Sales Associate/Back-up CDL Driver will act as a Sales Associate for the retail store by selling products to businesses and industrial customers. The associate will also fill in as a backup driver when needed.

Responsibilities:

1. Sell industrial, medical, and specialty gases, welding supplies, and related equipment to customers.
2. Stock shelves and assist customers through email, telephone, and walk-ins.
3. Solicit sales from new and existing customers, managing paperwork for future reference.
4. Coordinate cylinder and hardgoods deliveries, maintain showroom displays.
5. Assist customers with loading/unloading cylinders and provide guidance on equipment use and materials.
6. Foster strong customer relations, addressing inquiries and providing cost/ordering/delivery information.
7. Monitor and maintain proper hardgoods and cylinder levels to minimize emergencies.
8. Manage accounts receivable, discuss past-due accounts, and collect payments.
9. Ensure accurate paperwork, including coding, costing, and pricing.
10. Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to safety and administrative procedures.
11. Deliver products to customers as needed.
12. Act as Backup Driver when necessary.
13. Operate equipment like forklifts as required.
14. Support inventory management, housekeeping, displays, and demonstrations.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or GED.
2. 1+ years of Customer Service or Sales experience.
3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
4. Prior knowledge of welding is preferred.
5. Must be at least 21 years old.
6. Valid Class A or B CDL license.
7. Hazmat endorsement or ability to obtain within 60 days.
8. Industry experience or related product knowledge is preferred.
9. Basic computer order entry skills.
10. Ability to lift 25-75 lbs routinely and over 100 lbs occasionally.
11. Physical ability to stand, walk, sit, handle items, and interact with customers during deliveries.
12. Visual capabilities including close, distance, color, and depth perception.
