Job summary

Airgas, Inc. is seeking a Counter Sales Associate in Omaha, NE. The role balances high‑energy customer interaction with operational support, helping customers choose tools and procedures and handling order entry and pricing.

The position offers weekday hours with opportunities to grow within an industrial retail environment. Responsibilities include maintaining displays, processing transactions, coordinating with customers, and promoting branch growth.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2+ years experience in product, warehouse, or sales environments.
• Excellent customer service skills and ability to thrive in a fast‑paced setting.
• Experience in industrial retail, inside sales, or inventory control is a plus.
• Must be able to operate in a drug‑free workplace.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to company policies including safety and PPE usage to ensure a secure environment.
• Provide excellent customer service to internal and external partners, fostering long-term relationships.
• Accurately complete all required paperwork including coding, costing, and pricing.
• Partner with customers to identify the best tools and procedures; demonstrate equipment use to build confidence.
• Manage order entry and process transactions; assist with deposit reconciliation.
• Coordinate with customers and team members via phone, e‑mail, and in person to provide cost and delivery information.
• Support outgoing call strategy to promote branch growth.
• Coordinate transfer of merchandise between locations to meet customer needs.
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere through supportive communication with customers, vendors, and colleagues.
• Stock shelves and maintain showroom displays for an excellent customer experience.
• Coordinate cylinder movement and pallet organization.

Required Qualifications

• Availability for occasional overtime when needed.
• Must be able to operate in a drug‑free workplace.

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in gas, welding, or safety supplies.
• Familiarity with SAP, Google, or MS Office applications.
• Detailed understanding of SAP and PROS functionalities.
• Ability to communicate clearly and warmly with a wide variety of people from different backgrounds.
